In its commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, Tor Vergata University of Rome has implemented the "alias career" program specifically for transgender students. This initiative, approved by the University Board on April 26, 2016, aims to empower these students to navigate their academic journey with greater comfort and dignity.
Through this program, transgender students have the opportunity to request an alias. This interim and non-permanent identity allows them to use their chosen name and gender identity on official university documents, including their student ID card. This serves as a temporary measure to facilitate a seamless transition into their authentic selves while pursuing their studies.
The alias career program complements the legal process of rectifying personal data as outlined in Law 164/1982.
