If you are a non-EU citizen residing abroad, you must submit a pre-enrolment application to request an entry visa for study purposes in order to enter Italy.
You must submit the pre-enrolment application on the Universitaly platform (www.universitaly.it) and then contact the Italian embassy in your country, which will issue you with the entry visa to enter Italy for study purposes and fall within the places reserved for non-EU citizens. In the application, you must indicate the course of study you want to enrol in and the Embassy/Consulate where you will apply for the visa. The pre-enrolment will be verified by the University and forwarded to the Embassy/Consulate. Start well in advance to collect the documentation necessary for the issue of the visa..
Remember that pre-enrolment does not in itself allow admission to the courses of study. To enrol, you must also take and pass the checks on the access requirements and the admission tests for the course of study of your interest.
The pre-enrolment application will be considered as accepted with reservation by the University if the student is in the last year of secondary school and is about to sit both the final examination and/or the special academic aptitude tests, if required
Please note:
- Prior acceptance of a candidate by the University does not confer any right to obtain a visa, as this is the exclusive responsibility of the relevant diplomatic and consular representation;
- Obtaining a visa for study purposes, issued by the relevant diplomatic and consular representation, does not confer any right to enrolment in a degree course, as this is the exclusive responsibility of the individual higher education institutions;
- Prior acceptance of an applicant by the University does not confer any right to complete the enrolment, even if:
- The relevant visa has been already obtained;
- You are phisically present in Italy;
- You are eligible for and/or have won a scholarship of any kind;
- You have been provisionally accepted to start attending classes; please note that for the purposes of enrolment the universities must check the validity of the foreign qualification and the authenticity of the documents presented.
